Captain America Inspired Cross Stitch Cuff Bracelet

This summer I really wanted to make something with this cross stitch cuff bracelet that I found at our local Jo-Ann’s store.  Every time I have needed something from Jo-Ann’s,  I would grab these cross stitch cuffs only to put them back because I didn’t know how to cross stitch and had no idea what I would design.  Then one day, I was reading a blog on  these Captain America sugar cookies from Raising Lost Boys when I got inspired to make a Captain America cross stitch cuff.

To make this bracelet I bought 3 strands of embroidery floss, 1 red, 1 white, and 1 blue, and some cross stitch needles and 1 cross stitch cuff bracelet. As I said earlier, not knowing how to cross stitch I was glad the bracelet came with some instructions.

Then I needed to make a pattern to follow and since I had never created a cross stitch pattern this took me a little bit of time. You can download the pattern here –  CAPTAIN AMERICA BRACELET.

I really like the way this project turned out! And with a few more weeks of summer this would be the perfect addition to any Summer of Hero’s outfit. It would also work well for super hero day at school.

Now I think I need to make a pair of ears to match our bracelet so that we can take them on our upcoming Disneyland trip! What do you think?
