Inspired by Disneyland

Our New Project

Now that the school year has officially begun we needed to decide what direction we were going to go with our blog! We have really enjoyed sharing our summer projects with you and want to continue to do so throughout the school year. Taking inspiration from a previous Disney contest, we decided that each week we would like to share a different treat or outfit based off the rides at Disneyland and California Adventure. With our upcoming Disney vacation, I will also be able to create a few looks that we will be able to bring with us!

For our first project, we created a look for Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage.

The dress was created using a Simplicity pattern #8102 and a bed sheet we found at a local thrift store and lined at the top with fabric we got at JoAnn’s.

For our ears we needed two circular objects, one 1/4 inch smaller in diameter than the other, 3 different fabrics, some buttons, a thin sheet of craft foam, stuffing, a Simplicity head band, hot glue, and a beaded necklace.

What a cute simple outfit for Disney!  Although my youngest is not the biggest fan of homemade clothes. They usually come right off and sit in her closet. We do all love the ears so they will definitely make the packing list and might even be fought over!

Channeling her favorite princess Cinderella and lost her shoe!
