Inspired by Disneyland

Mickey’s Toontown

Disneyland’s Toontown, I have found to be quite the controversial little town, people either love it or can live without it. For our family, it has been no different.  It is always there, but we didn’t always feel the need to visit. During our last couple of trips to Disneyland that has changed and now we find ourselves looking  forward to visiting the special little place! Not so much for the rides Toontown has to offer, (although I do like the Gadget go coaster) but for all the imagination it has to offer.  There are so many things to touch and play with throughout and the little ones get the chance to visit with their favorite characters live!

So for this week’s project, we decided to create an outfit and a pair of Minnie ears to show our new found appreciation for this magical town! For this look, I up-cycled a Disney sheet with a Simplicity Kids easy pattern SO877.  The sky line of toontown popped into my mind as I was creating the Minnie ears and so I played off that.

Here are some pictures of our family in Toontown.

If you have never visited Toontown, I encourage you to go take a look, you never know what you might discover!

  1. I loved when this was at Disney World. I still have pictures from when I was a child and sitting on one of Minnie’s couches. I can’t believe it’s now completely gone, which means I need to make a trip out to California!
